How About Those Indians

A double header sweep last night against the Royals. Fausto Carmonan didn’t pitch particularly well in the opener, but the offense carried him. In the night cap, Cliff Lee pitched like he has all season, awesomely.

In the first game Grady carried the offense with this second home run of the season to go along with his sixth stolen base. Carmona gave up four in five innings to get the win, but the again had problems with his control, walking four hitters and striking out only one. The second game saw David Dellucci give Cliff Lee all the run support he needed with his third home run of the season.

That last sentence is something the Indians were desperately hoping for last season (and if they got it we might be world champs). Cliff Lee continued his early season dominance (it has been against the A’s, Twins and Royals but he still is other worldly right now) striking out nine in a complete game shut out (and again walking no one). Dellucci has also been an early season revelation with a .930 OPS on the season.

The Indians are now in a tie for second place (never to soon to start looking at the standings) and only 2.5 out of first.
