I guess all it took was for me to call out the offense. That is a heck of a game out of Casey Blake; must not have liked me calling him a utility player. OK, enough with my delusions of grandeur.
That was an impressive performance by not only the offense but also C.C. Sabathia. Eleven strike outs in six innings. The best sign for C.C. was only two walks on the night. He still through a lot of pitches (102) for six innings of work, but it is hard to complain about that performance. The performance also lowered his ERA to 10.12, almost in single digits!
On the opposite side of the spectrum was Gil Meche. Yet another awful performance (though his ERA is still lower than C.C.’s at 8.00) from their ace (at least in terms of dollars). As good as he looked last season he has looked just as bad this season. He is one of my favorites, so I hope he gets things figured out.

The other major note coming yesterday for the Indians was Jake Westbrook being put on the DL. He has a pulled muscle in his side that will keep him out for 2-4 weeks. He has pitched so good this season that this is a big time loss for the team.
I found it interesting that the Indians called up Ben Francisco to replace Westbrook on the roster. I assume that means another roster move is coming soon to replace Westbrook’s spot in the rotation. Francisco saw his first action of the season last night, replacing David Dellucci (who had another good night, going 2-5 with 2 RBI) in left field. Might we see Francisco replace Michaels as the right handed bat in the left field platoon?

What was up with Pronk going oh for 5?
Yeah, not so good. Just don't think it is the same Pronk anymore. Doesn't hit the ball with near the authority he use to.
He and Jason Bay weren't looking and have fallen off a cliff.
