Time to worry?

If you are an Indians fan then the last two games have to scare you to death. In two consecutive days the Indians' aces have looked more like the pitchers from last season's ALCS then 19 game winners.

Sabathia has yet to pitch a good game this season. He hasn't pitched more than 5.1 innings or given up less then 4 ER in a start. Is the contract stuff getting to him? I obviously have no way of knowing. But, so far, this just isn't the same Sabathia. He is walking too many hitters (9 in 14 innings) and giving up too many hits (.387 BAA). He will figure this out.

Carmona is a different story. He doesn't have the track record of Sabathia to fall back on. Carmona thus far has walked more then twice as many hitters (17) as he has struck out (8). He has never been a huge walker in his career (2.86/9 innings majors; 1.68/9 innings minors) so these three games are rather alarming. He pitched a lot of innings last season (215 innings; 74.2 the season before) and right now it is seeming to catch up with him. I am very much wishing against it but I have a bad feeling there is an injury coming.

The Indians just do not look good thus far. Is this the Royals year?
