That was a tough loss yesterday.
C.C. pitched great (8 IP, 8 K, 1 BB, 4 hits) but the Yankee pitchers were just a little better. Chien-Ming Wang was great and Joba and Rivera were unhittable. I can't complain to much about our offense when those guys were pitching so well.
Grady missed the game because of his ankle injury on Saturday. I was happy to see he didn't try to play with the injury just to keep his consecutive game streak going. No reason to be a tough guy just to keep a meaningless streak alive.
In Grady's lead-off spot was David Dellucci. He produced another solid game; going 1-3 with a walk and stolen base. I am very glad the team didn't give up on him after last years injury plagued season. If he stays healthy he is going to put up some good numbers against righties.
Like the other two games in the series, tonight's game will be nationally televised (ESPN). It is nice when the Yankees come to town.

Joba Chamberlain is very good. He is great for that 8th inning role, but I agree with Hank; he needs to be a starter. I would love to see what that guy could do as a starter over the course of a season; he is amazing.

I have decided to stop with the PayPerPost entries (even deleted the last two). After some celebrity advice from Razzball (they were link to by Deadspin last week), it is obvious that the posts just do not work for this site.

I don't believe we can be too upset about this one. I definitely agree on Grady's game streak ending, if he were realistically chasing Ripken it would have been one thing. Now, I think Wedge will give him days off just to give him the rest. I really like the bullpen sans Borowski; I wish it were a bit more permanent.
Great point about giving Grady days off. Now that the streak has ended Sizemore can get days off without worry.
I just don't believe Borowski will get his closer role back. The bullpen right now is set up great. A shaky Borowski in the ninth won't help this team any.
