We are now a 1st Place team

In blanking the A’s again on Wednesday the Indians moved into first place, a half game ahead of the Twins.

C.C. pitched great, throwing a complete game five hit shut-out. Sabathia had eleven Ks on the night and has now pitched very well in three of his last four starts. This was also the fourth fifth straight game the Indians’ starters have not allowed a run (and only one run allowed in the game prior to the streak). Also, three of those games the starters went nine innings. The bullpen should be well rested for National League style play this weekend in Cincinnati.

With the Indians’ starters pitching so well it masks the fact that the bats still are not hitting. Grady provided all the necessary runs with his lead-off home-run (and Garko added one later for his second straight day with one) but everyone else continued along with their slumps. Hafner 0-3, Cabrera 0-3, Blake 0-2, Dellucci 0-4 (who just a week ago I was praising for playing so well; why you got to make me look like an idiot?). I know you don’t have to score a lot if you pitchers aren’t giving up any, but this is ridiculous. Even with this offense we could probably win the putrid central; it just seems like we need to make some sort of move (trade, minor league call-up, Barry Bonds signing) to jump start us (and no, I don’t think Ben Francisco replacing Jason Michaels was that move).

This afternoon we have Aaron Laffey going against Greg Smith. Keep the streak alive Aaron.

The Indians suck! CC Sabathia is fat and overrated. Grady Sizemore is overhyped. Cliff Lee must have a horse shoe up his *** because his season is a fluke. The fact of the matter is, the Indians will not win the division, nor make the playoffs. What a pathetic franchise. They are in first place now and they still can't get anyone to go to the games.
